Autism is officially recognized as one of the country’s fastest-growing serious developmental disorders, together with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, seizures, speech disorders, and ADHD.
According to its biennial update, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported a 15 increase of estimated prevalence of autism among children in the United States. From 1 in 68 from the past two years, today, 1 in 59 children is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
Despite this high prevalence, relevant studies continue to show that a large percentage of parents of young children actually have minimal to zero knowledge about the signs and symptoms of autism. That and the fact that parents of children with autism are not able to seek help early enough are more concerning.
While there has currently been no progress on finding cure for autism, awareness, early detection, and prompt intervention provide critical help and can result in considerable improvement across the lifespan of the person diagnosed with the disorder.
LakiKid’s “I Love Someone with Autism” Campaign is all about encouraging autism awareness across our modern-day communities, a crucial first step to take in all endeavors that aim to provide support for families with special needs.
Spearheaded by a father of an amazing 8-year-old boy with autism, LakiKid is a brand that is dedicated to providing families information, support, and other resources so members with special needs get their chances at leading full and productive lives.
In their primary goal of giving back to the community, LakiKid has teamed up with KultureCity in their continuous bid to make the world a better place for children and adults alike who suffer from autism spectrum disorder.
“It’s both scary and surprising to know that despite all the technological advancements across the United States and back in Japan where my son was diagnosed, there isn’t enough resources, organizations, and professional help you can find and trust and just be comfortable to talk with when it comes to autism. That really pushed me to take the initiative and create LakiKid,” LakiKid founder and CEO Jason Hsieh explained.
The latest round of creative campaign from LakiKid, entitled “I Love Someone with Autism” remains in sync and unyielding with the brand’s objective to boost public awareness of autism spectrum disorder.
Like all the other LakiKid campaigns, this movement looks to establish a tremendous record of success by communicating our message “I Love Someone with Autism” through social media and other online platforms. LakiKid is holding a t-shirt designing contests, live shows with autism members, interviews with parents, forums, and the likes, with the hopes of reaching more and more people with information about autism.
