ABOUT US

Empower Kids to Have A Life Full of Possibilities

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

In 2013, we learned that our son, Keanu was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD. Unfortunately, there was very limited resources and therapy opportunities related to Autism in Japan at the time. Sadly, Japanese society as a whole does not openly accept people with disabilities. So we knew we needed to find a community where we could get support and advice to help our son.

We decided to move to Seattle, Washington to seek additional therapies and resources to help our son. However, therapies and sensory products were very expensive and our insurance did not cover them. As we struggled to find affordable, quality products to help our son’s challenges with anxiety, sleep, sensory and attention, we decided to create our own brand instead. That’s when LakiKid was born.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

Now, LakiKid has grown to be more than just a product design company! We feel blessed that we have been able to create a wonderful community where families can help each other and share their journey through LakiKid’s Parent Support Group. We also started a weekly Facebook Live Show “Ask an Autism Mom” for the community where we discuss the various autism-related issues and interview experts in the field.

NON-PROFIT PARTNERSHIP

We believe so strongly in giving back to the community, we teamed up with KultureCity, a non-profit organization with various programs to empower autistic individuals and their families to make the world a better place for children, and adults alike, who have been diagnosed with Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, and other special needs.
